Everyone knows they should take good care of their body after a hard workout, and this goes beyond just stretching and getting in a good recovery meal. Sometimes what you do after a workout can be almost as important as the workout itself. Not taking appropriate care of your body can lead to your muscles and tendons breaking down over time and end in the dreaded injury cycle. The Trigger Point Performance Therapy line of products provide a great set of tools to help avoid this cycle.

The Saucony Type A5 racing flat is the newest shoe in Saucony's line of light-weight racing flats. This flat is a solid upgrade from the A4, and it both looks and feels faster. The A5 retails for $100, which seems to be right around the going rate for flats these days.

And on the 7th day the endurance sport gods created…the Garmin 910xt

Every so often there is a product that hits the market that is a MUST HAVE for your training regime, and I can say without reservation that the Garmin 910xt GPS multi-sport watch is one of those products. I have to admit that I am a little biased as I have been a Garmin supporter for several years (Edge 405, Edge 500), but this one takes the cake. Needless to say, when I heard of this watch that mixed the GPS functionality of its predecessors, with a smaller watch design, ANT+ technology to track heart rate/power/speed/cadence (the list goes on), and state-of-the-art wireless swim metrics, I had to have one.

In February, Clean Bottle introduced The Runner, which is the first and only hand held bottle to carry your iPod or smartphone. The Runner also offers ample storage for keys, energy gels and credit cards.

Since I don't own an iPhone and my HTC Evo with its much superior and larger screen size would not fit in the The Runner, I had to have my running partner Tristan Mitchell test out The Runner.

When I hear the name Ronin, I always think of the 1998 movie of the same name staring Robert Dinero. Maybe the folks at Mizuno thought Deniro was such a BA in that movie that it would make for a kick ass shoe name, if the shoe was named after Deniro, I say well done Mizuno.

The Mizuno Ronin 4 retails for $105, weighs in at 7.2 ounces in a size 9 and has a heel height of 25mm with a forefoot height of 15mm and if you know how to subtract you'll know that equals a drop of ten millimeters.

This is the review you've all been waiting for. Don't lie, you were a little intrigued when you watched Meb win the trials in his Skechers. Obviously it's not all about the shoes you wear but it can play a factor in your performance . . . or lack thereof. When people first heard that Skechers was entering the running shoe market, most people scoffed at the idea. Why do we always jump to conclusions?

I'm the guy that hates to carry anything with me when I run. In fact, I ran a 20 miler a week ago with a group of friends and showed up without any water or gels. Thankfully my buddy recognized my stupid decision and gave me some water late in the run and another shared a GU with me.

In the summer months, my rule of thumb is if I am running <15 miles I generally don't carry anything, unless it is really hot. Over 15 miles and I use my Nathan belt. I like the Nathan belt, but I still hate having something on my waist and I often get some chaffing on the waist.

Merrell and Vibram teamed up in 2011 to create a minimalist shoe, called The Trail Glove. Previously I had not much experience with Merrells, with the exception of my winter boots, so I was curious as to how good of a running shoe they would make. As stated before I love my Vibram Five Fingers and am a fan of Vibram soles.

“Designed for the racer with over-pronation, the Musha 3 delivers pure performance to cover any race distance. The Mizuno Wave deflects forces at impact while providing guidance for excess pronation. Additionally, the shoe provides a silky smooth ride and great feel for the road.”RunningWarehouse

Having run in Mizuno Wave Inspires since 2007, the Wave Musha seemed like a logical choice for a racing flat to be used for everything from 5K to the marathon. I just replaced my worn-out Wave Musha 3s with a brand new pair courtesy of Mizuno/Boulder Running Company and RunColo!

The SHEEX website claims that better sleeps leads to better performance. I'm not sure if they are talking about performance in the bedroom or on race day, but the sheets are damn comfortable and silky soft.

Full disclosure on RunColo, I didn't pay a dime for these sheets as they were sent to me in exchange for a product review. I also don't consider myself an information maven when it comes to bed sheets, I know the term thread count but that's about it, but I do know comfort.

After having logged 500+ miles on my Inov-8 Road Xlite 155, I have already proclaimed it as one of the top running shoes that I have ever owned. I have never been brand loyal to a shoe company, but that's starting to change. For a small shoe company Inov-8 offers up a large variety of shoes and I was excited to test out the Bare X Lite 150, which is a zero drop shoe.

I've done a lot of running in racing flats, but had yet to try out any of the zero drop shoes that were out on the market. The Bare X Lite 150 is the lightest shoe in the Inov-8 lineup, weighing in at 6.1 ounces in a size 9.

On Sundays I like to venture out for a long run wearing my #15 Broncos jersey and I really needed a pair of shoes to complete the ensemble. I searched high and low until I found a pair of shoes that would work, the New Balance RC 1400.

I'm not being completely honest with you, I don't even own a Broncos jersey and if I did own one it would be Eric Decker's.

"This shoe inspires speed," reads the Newton.com website. After using their new racing flat off and on throughout my recent marathon training cycle, I completely agree. The MV2 (pronounced MV squared) combines the benefits of all Newton shoes - their natural running technology that encourages a forefoot strike - with a zero heel-to-toe drop and a lightweight flat. And because of that, the shoe is winner and stands out as one of my favorite racing flats.

If you want to make your friends laugh, show up to a group run wearing a pair of moccasins. You'll get some strange looks and "are those moccasins?"

Soft Star Shoes has been in business for 25 years making high quality handcrafted moccasins that mimic barefoot running. The folks at Soft Star sent me a pair of RunAmoc moccasins, their most popular style.

Shoe selection is continually a hot topic for debate between runners and you will hardly find a consensus on any of them. If you have thought about minimal or barefoot running shoes, we have a new contender that will have heads turning. The Altra Zero Drop Instinct was selected Most Innovative shoe of the year by Competitor magazine in September. The Zero Drop concept is based on the idea that running natural will produce better results and less injuries because of the biomechanical neutral strike this shoe allows. With a true zero drop sole you are left to run with a natural stride that isn't being forced by the shoe you're wearing (most traditional running shoes are 8 to 12 mm drop from heel to toe). One major difference to the Instinct from what you'll find with most zero drop shoes is that it still gives you plenty of cushion. Minimal doesn't have to be uncomfortable. That's one thing I really loved about this shoe.
