On Saturday, January 28th the Boulder Running Company will be teaming up with New Balance and local sponsors Naked Pizza and The Avery Brewing Company to put on the annual cross-country style Fast and Flurry-ous 4 miler. Race start is 9 a.m. for the women and 10 a.m. for the men. The spectator friendly 2k grass loop will be located near Fairview High School at Harlow Platts Community Park.

The sixth annual Golden Gallop will take place on Sunday, Nov. 6th. The Gallop features a 5K, 10K, and a kids fun run with proceeds going to the Golden Schools Foundation. Runners and walkers are both welcome on the USATF certified 5K and 10K courses. Both race courses wind through Golden on a mix of bike paths and residential streets with near constant mountain views. Faster runners can compete for prize money and age group winners can earn a Golden Gallop pint glass. Everyone will be eligible for a ton of great post-race raffle prizes and all runners will receive a long-sleeve technical shirt in women's and men's sizes. ...

Colorado Race Timing has the inside scoop on a few races that we are timing in August. This weekend the 3rd annual Peachy Cheeks 5K will be run, prize money going to the top three men and women. The inaugural Summerfest 5K is giving out an iPad to the winner of the mens, womens and <17 age category. That's a hell of a prize and I'm sure the competition will be intense for that top spot. At the end of the month the Erace Homelessness 5K is offering a cool grand in prize money.

The Run for Congo Women 5K will take place this Sunday at Wash. Park. Last year's race had 271 finishers and Harry Hollines from Englewood was the winner in 19:31, with Leslie Hoffman being the first lady to cross the finish line in 20:38
