Before you give thanks this Thanksgiving and watch the Detroit Lions beat up the Green Bay Packers and their third string quarterback, lace up your running shoes and get in a race. I've scoured the World Wide Web, looking for Colorado Thanksgiving Day races in the upcoming weeks.

As always, if I missed one, leave a note in the comments.

The first weekend of November was highlighted by the New York City Marathon, and while no American men or women made the top ten. Colorado was well represented at the race, especially on the women's side, led to the line by Adriana Nelson's 2:35:05, good enough for 13th place and first place American female.

The Denver Broncos are 7-1 and have reached the halfway point of their season, as they head into their bye week. The Cardinals and Red Sox are notted up two games to two in the World Series, and the Obama administration is in disarray as the fallout over the Angela Merkel phone surveillance heats up. It was the fourth weekend of October and the racing action featured several Halloween themed races.

Get dressed up in your favorite Halloween costume and head to the races, this Saturday. One of my favorite races of the year is the Hoofin' It Through the Hollows 5K, held out at deKoevend Park in Centennial. This is a run that I have raced and timed, fantastic event that is held on Saturday evening.

If you're up in the Loveland area, check out the Phantom 4 Miler. Colorado Race Timing has timed this event for the last three years and it's also another race that I have run as well. Besides being a fantastic event, the Phantom 4 Miler has the best post race breakfast that I have ever experienced.

I know that Simon usually starts things off with a football recap, but since he's MIA and I don't know anything about football, we'll skip straight to the races. As usual, please chime in with anything left out.

I'm analytical and a big fan of the biohacking movement. Hacking is making simple adjustments to the way we do things, to become more efficient and get the most bang for our buck.

The 2006 Denver Marathon was my first marathon, I ran it in 3:28:55. That next year, I ran a 2:58:47, when you're simply starting out in the marathon, the fun part is it's easy to knock off huge chunks of time. From 2007, to 2011, I have managed to get my marathon PR down to a 2:43:50.

I'm at a point now where I am fighting, clawing, doing anything I can to improve a minute here and there. In turn, I'm going to share all the little things that I do or look at it, to try to marginally improve my speed and reduce my time, with the end goal of breaking 2:40:00.

A three time Olympic marathon trials qualifier and the 2004 Olympic marathon team alternative, Trent Briney has put his dues in and already put together an impressive resume of lifetime accomplishments. This Saturday, Trent will be running the Ultra Race of Champions (UROC) 100K, which starts in Breckendridge and finishes in Vail. He states that his goal is "simply to finish," but I'm thinking he's a bit too competitive to simply finish.

iRunFar is arguably one of the top ultra/trail running websites in the world, a go to resource for news, race reports, product reviews, and interviews. In 2009, Bryon Powell the founder of iRunFar quit his legal job in Washington, DC and made iRunFar his full-time job. These days, iRunFar is no longer a solo affair but a team effort, which has vastly increased the material on the site. Thanks to Bryon for taking time out of busy schedule to do an interview with RunColo.

This classic Inov-8 model has been a staple in my off-road racing footwear arsenal for some time and when I heard it was getting updated, it made me nervous. I hoped the changes wouldn’t be too drastic. Why change something that is already amazing? I’ve seen this done with a lot of other shoe brands to the collective dismay of loyal wearers. The word “update” does not always translate to “better”. After all, this shoe has been worn by some of the best mountain/trail/ultra runners in the world, even by Royalty, otherwise known as R[oil]ty, in some circles!

The X-Talon 190 not only gets a facelift, but a complete overhaul and, in this case, it results in “better”!
