I don't personally follow too many blogs, let alone blogs from runners who don't reside in Colorado. However, one of my favorite blogs is Zach Bitter's. Zach is in the mold of a Tim Ferriss, always experimenting and looking for the little things to improve his performance and gain an edge on the competition. It's rare that we do an interview on a non-Colorado athlete, but Zach is in an interesting guy with some great insight, so I am thankful to him for answering a few questions from RunColo.

That cheap ass Warren Buffet offered up a billion dollars to anyone who could fill out a perfect NCAA bracket, all you had to do was give Quicken loans your social security number, bank account information and birthdate. He might as well have offered up a billion dollars for anyone to get struck by Thor's Mjolnir.

March Madness, the greatest weekend of the year, offered up three 12's beating a 5 seed and a sweet sixteen run by the Dayton Flyers. The weekend was made even better when Bill Self lost to a team seeded 8 spots lower than him for the fifth time in his tenure at Kansas. Keep telling yourselves he's an elite coach KU fans!

Ok, enough hoops talk, there was some racing this weekend, not much, but there were a couple, breakdown below.

By now we have all seen them: the new maximalist running shoes. Hoka One One has had significant influence on the running shoe market during a short period of time and has launched several new models of footwear over the last many months. They will also debut several more before the end of 2014. One of the new models available is the Conquest, a new super-thick road shoe deeply entrenched in Hoka’s roots of “maximalism”.

The racing season kicked off in a big way this past weekend with St. Patrick's Day races across the state and plenty of post race beers afterwards. The CU Buffs will match up with Brownie's weak Pitt Panthers in the NCAA tournament, the Denver Broncos bolstered up on defense, and Eric Decker will be catching passes from Geno Smith instead of Peyton Manning next season. The Ides of March have passed and it was the third weekend of March.
