Wilson Kipsang set a new marathon world record at the Berlin Marathon, running a 2:03:23. The Denver Broncos put up 52 points on the Philadelphia Eagles, setting a franchise record and begging the question, can anyone beat the Broncos? The MLB regular season came to an end with the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals garnering the number one seeds. It was the final weekend of September and the final episode of Breaking Bad.

A three time Olympic marathon trials qualifier and the 2004 Olympic marathon team alternative, Trent Briney has put his dues in and already put together an impressive resume of lifetime accomplishments. This Saturday, Trent will be running the Ultra Race of Champions (UROC) 100K, which starts in Breckendridge and finishes in Vail. He states that his goal is "simply to finish," but I'm thinking he's a bit too competitive to simply finish.

iRunFar is arguably one of the top ultra/trail running websites in the world, a go to resource for news, race reports, product reviews, and interviews. In 2009, Bryon Powell the founder of iRunFar quit his legal job in Washington, DC and made iRunFar his full-time job. These days, iRunFar is no longer a solo affair but a team effort, which has vastly increased the material on the site. Thanks to Bryon for taking time out of busy schedule to do an interview with RunColo.

This classic Inov-8 model has been a staple in my off-road racing footwear arsenal for some time and when I heard it was getting updated, it made me nervous. I hoped the changes wouldn’t be too drastic. Why change something that is already amazing? I’ve seen this done with a lot of other shoe brands to the collective dismay of loyal wearers. The word “update” does not always translate to “better”. After all, this shoe has been worn by some of the best mountain/trail/ultra runners in the world, even by Royalty, otherwise known as R[oil]ty, in some circles!

The X-Talon 190 not only gets a facelift, but a complete overhaul and, in this case, it results in “better”!

It was the penultimate weekend of September and the penultimate episode of Breaking Bad and that show simply keeps getting darker and darker. We also discovered that Denver Bronco Von Miller tried the "swap out the urine sample" and that is why he got a six game suspension, of course this was after he had already pulled the "diluted urine" and the "spilled urine" routine on collectors. I have to say, the spilled urine gaffe, provides a solid laugh.

Also, I know most of you are following the great NL Central race, which saw my St. Louis Cardinals gain a two game lead on Brownie's Pittsburgh Pirates and the Reds with six games remaining. I love playoff baseball, oh, we also have some running news, scroll down for the summaries.

Rain was the big story of the week, as the city of Boulder got more rain in a week than it gets in an entire year. Races have already been cancelled due to the devastation, with the Boulder Marathon promising to get rescheduled.

In lighter news, the Denver Broncos improved to 2-0 and Floyd "Money" Mayweather beat up the red headed fighter from Mexico to earn a minimum of $42m for a night's work. Yes, there were some races this weekend, read below for the recap.

Look... me and the Run Colorado people got this little misunderstanding. See, they're Run Colorado.. I'm RunColo.

"They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds."

I couldn't resist, who doesn't love "Coming to America," so I shot the owners of Run Colorado a few questions to see how things were going and how the name change from Boulder Running Company to Run Colorado has gone over.

Tim Tebow was cut by the Patriots, former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison died and college football opened up with eight FCS teams beating FBS teams, in some wild upsets by the little guys. Oh and the Buffaloes probably won their only game of the season, beating the Rams of CSU, who were hoping for their one and only win of the season.

It was the last weekend of August and the first weekend of September and happy Labor Day to the American workforce.
