See what he had to say going into next weekend's race, about how a new crop of short-course guys are reshaping ultrarunning, and about his new job at Hypoxico.

Read on to learn about Vargo’s rise and what he has planned for the rest of the year, and just for the ladies into runner's legs, take a peek at his calves.

Last year Mesa, Colorado's Glenn Randall rocketed to the front of the Boston Marathon and enjoyed 31:02 of fame as he led the Boston Marathon. His opening 10k split would indicate a 2:11 finish assuming even pacing. Randall ultimately drifted to a 2:37 finish that was good for 61st overall, but his notoriety had been etched in Boston Marathon and LetsRun lore. The term "Pull a Glenn Randall" gained recognition from runners everywhere. It's unlikely that Randall, now a more experienced marathoner, will again pull a GR, but in celebration of last year's race that left Colorado viewers glued to their TV sets for the first 10k, we'll award a case of PowerBars to the person who most accurately predicts Randall's 10k split at this year's race.
