    Tristan Mitchell, 26 years old, from Centennial, CO is our Mizuno/Boulder Running Company/RunColo runner of the month for April.

    Ok, I'm biased, Tristan is my training partner, but I think everyone will agree that he has had an impressive 2012, capped off by an even stronger month of April. Tristan took third at the Platte Half Marathon running a PR of 1:15:46 and finished third last Sunday at the Cherry Creek Sneak 10M in 56:03 (5:36 pace). He will be running the Colfax Marathon later this month.

    Adriana Nelson-Pirtea, 32 years old, hails from Bucharest, Romania and now resides in Ft. Collins with her husband Jeremy Nelson together they operate Running Bums. She has a marathon PR of 2:28:52 which she ran in 2008 at the London Marathon.

    In 2011 Adriana became a USA citizen and was cleared to compete for the USA in 2012. She competed at the Olympic Trials Marathon in January and was with the lead pack at mile 7 before dropping out of the race.

    Plantar fasciitis, that nagging heel pain that you feel one morning when getting out of bed and that gets progressively worse without treatment, is one of the most common running-related injuries. With the distinction of being one of the most common running injuries comes a slew of information and advice on the best treatment remedies. Unfortunately, the most common advice for this injury will not actually fix the underlying issues and will therefore not get you back out there running pain-free. Rest, rolling your foot on a golf/lacrosse ball or a frozen water bottle may all help your foot feel a bit better for the time being, but they will not fix the problem. The 25-year-old had big goals for the 2012 Olympic trials marathon and while 50th in the country's most competitive race, shares his disappointment over his 2:19 finish. McCandless remains optimistic for the future and, taking an old school racing attitude, already has his next marathon planned. He shares those thoughts in this video interview.

    Olympic trials weekend continued Sunday with the running of the Houston Marathon. Benita Willis ran an even-paced 2:28 to finish second and well below the 2:32 Australian standard for the 2012 Olympics.

    One would have to say that 2011 was a breakout year for Kim Dobson. The 27-year-old from Aurora, Colo., who attended Arapahoe High School and Colorado State University, has shown that she can dominate in the mountains and that she can throw down some impressive road times as well. She knocked off more than ten minutes from her 2010 marathon time when she ran a 2:45:55 at the California International Marathon two weeks ago.

    This past summer Kim won the Pikes Peak Ascent where she almost broke the course record and also won the prestigous Mount Washington Road Race in New Hampshire.
