• US Half Marathon Championships - 2011 Colorado Entrants

It's not until January 29th, but looking at the entrant list, I'm too excited not to post this now. The men's field is deep, with lots of Colorado runners. Sure some guys will scratch and others have yet to enter, but here's how it stacks up right now.

    Men

Austin Baillie - Boulder, CU alum, ran 1:04:17 last year in this same race.
Trent Briney - Flagstaff, UCCS alum.
Ian Burrell - Flagstaff, Colorado native.
Michael Chavez - Fort Collins, just won the Quicker Quaker 5K in Lafayette.
Robert Cheseret - Colorado Springs, 2010 US 5K road champion, member of US Army team.
Josh Eberly - Gunnison, former member of Hanson's.
    Jason Finch - Denver.
Kenneth Foster - Colorado Springs, member of the US Army team.
Tyler McCandless - Boulder, just ran 2:17 at the 2010 Cal International Marathon.
Kenyon Neuman - Boulder, CU alum.
Pat Rizzo - Boulder, ran 2:16 at the 2010 Chicago Marathon.
Bobby Reyes - Boulder, won the 2010 Colfax Half Marathon.
Jorge Torres - Boulder, just ran 2:14 at the 2010 New York Marathon.
Brent Vaughn - Black Hawk, CU alum, ran 1:02:04 last year in this same race.
Justin Young - Boulder, just ran 2:14 at the 2010 Cal International Marathon.

Vaughn will challenge Abdi Abdirahman, Fasil Bizuneh, Ryan Hall, and Pat Smyth for the win. I've got $5 that says that Ryan Hall does not win if anyone wants to take that bet. Behind Vaughn, I'll take Young as the second Coloradan.

    Women

Zoila Gomez - Alamosa, 2:32 at 2010 Chicago Marathon.
Nan Kennard - Boulder, just won the Quicker Quaker 5K.
Tera Moody - Colroado Springs, CU alum, ran 1:12:52 last year in this same race.
Danielle Quatrochi - Denver (?), former member of the Oregon Track Club.
Cassie Slade - Indian Hills, won last year's BolderBoulder citizen's race.

Kennard will challenge Magda Boulet, Jen Rhines, Katie McGregor, and Serena Burla for the win.

I'd take that bet. , Hall is still a hell of a runner and when he "struggles" his time is still better than most
