Thousands of Races in Colorado, but One Kind is Missing

Colorado has thousands of races each year in every distance and theme imaginable. How many obstacle course races popped up last year? The same is true of half marathons, all over the state. We don’t need any more Turkey Trots, there are plenty of Fourth of July-themed races, and no one dares schedule a race on Memorial Day weekend against BolderBoulder. We've got burro races and coffin races, and more than one of each. What kind of race is Colorado missing then?

A nude race.

There are dozens of such races scattered around the US, but none in Colorado. Boulder’s Naked Pumpkin Run has disappeared, although not for lack of demand. We do have a few underwear runs, the Cupid’s Undie Run in particular is in just two weeks, but nothing going all the way. Instead, we cover ourselves up in gorilla costumes.

And in a state with 300+ days of sunshine per year, that’s a shame.

For the local enterprising race director, there's a prime location somewhere around Littleton, a resort actually. A nude race is on everyone's bucket list and it's time that this gap in the Colorado race calendar is filled.
