Stephanie Riggs talks about the Run for Congo Women 5K on Denver's 7 News.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo has been called the worst place on earth to be a woman. It is estimated that in the last four years alone, 250,000 women and girls have been raped and that number continues to grow each year. Our goal is to give women survivors the opportunity to reclaim their lives.
Run for CongoWomen 5k Run/Walk was started in 2005 to raisefunds for Women for Women International’s DR Congo program. Women who enter this program receive financial assistance, psychological counseling, job skills training, and so much more. This years race will be held at Washington Park and there will be live music and great raffle prizes. Our message is this: Congolese lives matter. The lives of Congolese women are significant. The lives of Congolese children are precious. They are worth our effort. We are running to help!
