The third annual ReadyTalk 5K moved to October and now features a Halloween theme. The race will be held on Saturday, in Denver's City Park. Last year's race was won by Adam Rich and Cassie Slade. The race proceeds benefit Denver Active 20-30 Children's Foundation serving Denver's at-risk and disadvantaged youth.
The third annual Shake, Rattle and Run 5K will be held this Saturday at Orchard Town Center. Last year's race had 254 finishers and was led by Colfax Marathon champion Nicholas Mockeridge in 16:40. Nick also won the race in 2009, while Justin Mock, another Colfax Marathon champion has placed second the last two years. Will we see another Mockeridge Vs. Mock showdown this year, or is this the year for Mock? The women's race was won by Laura Mortimer in 20:07.

The Stride will take place this Sunday in Littleton. Last year's even attracted over 2,000 participants. The Stride offers up a 5K, 10K and a kids fun run. Last year's 5K was won by Sammy Nyanmongo in 17:40 and Dana Polonsky in 23:07. The 10K was won by James Raven in 35:51 and Emma Raven in 38:38. The Stride benefits the Littleton Public Schools.
