Neither Torres will run, per common knowledge. Ed retired a while ago and Jorge has been injured. Houseworth said he isn't planning to, either. As for those with a shot at making the team, probably only Hartmann among the men and De Reuck and Moody are the only women who could have outside shots though neither would be considered a dark horse. Very different landscape at the top of the women's marathon compared with 2008, yet Kastor could probably show up and make the team again and shut out younger runners who are on the cusp. Nice to see deep representation from CO filling out the field.

I think I may have missed Mike Aish on this list too.

Moody has been injured after the San Antonio half and De Reuck didn't race that well at Worlds, so I unfortunately don't think any of the CO women will contend. Kennard has been injured too.

Adriana Nelson could be a factor on the women's side, plenty of big race experience including a 2nd place finish in the Chicago Marathon a few years back.

Good call. Got to think that it'll take a sub-2:30 to make the team.

Although Nuta Olaru ran 2:37 last weekend and is now a U.S. citiizen, I believe she is not yet eligible for the trials.

I'd love to see Vaughn place in the top 3, but running a a 65:41 today in Miami isn't a time that would make him appear to be a contender a month from now.

Yeah, except that it was a prescribed tempo pace...just like the race in San Antonio a month ago. Trust me, I know for a fact that they were just cruisin'.
