• Colorado Race Timing - Feature Events August

    Colorado Race Timing has the inside scoop on a few races that we are timing in August. This weekend the 3rd annual Peachy Cheeks 5K will be run, prize money going to the top three men and women. The inaugural Summerfest 5K is giving out an iPad to the winner of the mens, womens and <17 age category. That's a hell of a prize and I'm sure the competition will be intense for that top spot. At the end of the month the Erace Homelessness 5K is offering a cool grand in prize money.

    Peachy Cheeks 5K
    August 20th
    Greeley, CO

    In conjunction with the Peaches for Hospice, Hospice of Northern Colorado will be hosting its 3rd Annual Peachy Cheeks on the Move 5K Walk/Run.

    The top three overall male and female finishers will be awarded $75 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. Other awards will be given to the top three of the following age groups 7-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-over.




    Ram Run 5K
    August 27th
    Lakewood, CO



    The Ram Run/Walk
    is a community-building and fundraising event to help support Green Mountain High School sports, clubs, and activities. $10 from every Ram Run/Walk registration ($5 from every Ram Rest) goes directly to the sport, club, or activity of your choice!

    Clint Boston, the XC coach at Green Mountain High School puts on an excellent race. Last year's race was won by Greg Reindl in 16:34, with the top five men running under 18:21. Mary Ballinger won for the women in 20:07.

    The race features some tough hills, but is run on city streets and a unique course. Last year's race had 236 finishers and the numbers are looking a lot higher for 2011.




    Summerfest 5K
    Castle Rock, CO
    August 27th

    SummerFest Family 5K sponsored by Calvary Chapel Castle Rock and Rocky Mountain Insurance Advisors is having its inaugural 5K race this year at the Douglas County Fairgrounds with a new 5K route. Top prize is an iPad. We will have three iPad’s to give away one for top male, top female, and under 17. To register please visit our site www.castlerockfestival.com.

    This will be a timed event with prizes for top runners in each age group. Bring out the whole family and you can run, walk and even stroll together. Registration starts at 8:00am and the race begins at 9:00pm. Preregistration is $30 and race day is $35. Register early to be guaranteed a t-shirt. The 5K will be the kickoff to our SummerFest at the Fairgrounds family festival. The Festival will include face painting, magic shows, puppets shows and live bands all day entertainment and festivities are FREE.

    Eracehomelessness 5K
    Denver, CO
    August 28th



    The Eracehomelessness 5K is moving from City Park to Wash. Park. The 10K is gone but the prize money is still up for grabs! The 6th annual race benefits Senior Support Services and has attracted close to 500 runners and walkers in previous years.

    Last year's race was won by Adam Rich in 15:41 and Lori Walker in 18:15. The top five men went under 16:39 last year and Carrie Zografos took third for the women in 19:07. The field will once again be strong for this year's race with the $1k prize purse.

    Come out and support a great cause and a well organized race.
