Boulder Road Runners Track Meet – Thursday
The 800M saw TCU's Jackson Langat run a super-quick 1:52. Will Seidel (2:02), Stephen Saleeby (2:05), BRC’s Jay Luna (2:07), Fleet Feet’s Rich Dissly (2:11), and BRC’s Cody Hill (2:15) also competed.
In the 1 mile, Augustus Maiyo won by a large margin in 4:23. BRC’s Jay Luna (4:42), Cody Hill (4:49) and Andy Rinne (4:52) went 2-3-4 with Fleet Feet master Rich Dissly running 4:53 for fifth. Cassie Slade ran 4:58 in the women’s race.
Boulder Stroke ‘n’ Stride – Thursday
Weather conditions forced the cancellation of the swim, so the 5K-only event was won by Dan McIntosh (Denver) in a quick 16:03. Billy Edwards (Boulder) and Chris Leiferman (Fort Collins) ran 16:18 and 17:19 for second and third. The women’s race was won by Katie Blackett (Boulder) in 18:55 with Amanda McCracken (Boulder) just behind in 18:59. The race had 243 finishers.
Grandma’s Marathon (Minnesota) - Saturday
Tyler McCandless (Boulder) led the way with a 2:17:09 finish. The Mile High Track Club’s Ryan Herzog (Littleton) ran 2:33:34 for a big PR! Runner’s Roost’s Paul Sovik-Siemens (Denver) was just behind in 2:34:11. Narrowly missing an Olympic trials qualifying mark, Nikole Johns (Fort Collins) ran 2:49:01.
In the half marathon, Fernando Cabada (Boulder) ran 1:02:33 for sixth overall.
Bighorn 50K (Wyoming) – Saturday
Patrick Garcia (Denver) won in 4:05:20, good for a 14-minute-win. Bob Africa (Boulder) ran 7:53 for third in the 50M. And in the premier event, Nick Pedatella (Boulder) took second in the 100M.
Emerald Valley Track Club Open (Oregon) – Saturday
Sara Vaughn ran 4:14.8 in the 1500M.
Sailin’ Shoes 5K / 10K (Colorado Springs) – Satuday
Brian Dumm (Colorado Springs) was the big winner in the 10K, running 32:34 for a 3+ minute win. Christie Foster (Colorado Springs) won the women’s race in 38:19. BRC’s Adrian Chouinard (Colorado Springs), slated to participate in the American Distance Project, was second in 38:59. Colorado Running Company’s Amanda Ewing (Colorado Springs) was third in 39:26. The 10K had 312 finishers.
Augustus Maiyo (Colorado Springs) broke Nelson Laux’s six-year-old course record by running 14:47 for the win. BRC’s Matt Levassiur (Alamosa), Adam Rich (Colorado Springs), and Greg Reindl (Golden) went 2-3-4 in 15:08, 15:29, and 15:36. Both Levassiur and Rich are slated to race for the USATF Colorado State Championship next weekend in Denver. In all, 16 men broke 17:00.
18-year-old Sydney Harris (Colorado Springs) won the women’s race in 18:31. BRC’s Amanda Occhi (Manitou Springs) was second in 18:45 and Ruth Waller (Fort Collins) third in 18:58. The 5K had 555 finishers.
Mount Evans Ascent (Idaho Springs) – Saturday
High winds and cold temps greeted runners on the 14.5 mile and 4,000 foot climb up America’s highest paved road. Conditions prevented any potential course record, but Mario Macias (Alamosa) was back in first place. His 1:50 finish time earned $300. Mike Aish (Arvada) was third in 1:59.

Others of note – Tim Waggoner (Golden) in 2:00, first master George Zack (Broomfield) 2:15, and first grand master Adam Feerst in 2:19. The race paid $100 to the first master and first grand master, grand master money compliments of Fleet Feet Boulder.
New Balance High School Nationals - Thurs/Fri/Sat
Kirk Webb (Louisville) ran 4:12 in the mile to win his heat.
Sydney Scott (Frisco) ran 10:51 for 19th in the 3200M and 5:06 for 12th in the mile.
San Juan Solstice 50 (Lake City) – Saturday
Early results have Joe Grant (Louisville) taking the win on the snow-altered route.
