BTC and BRC will compete head-to-head in a five-race series throughout 2012 with Race 1 being the Fast and Flurry-ous. The top-4 runners from each team will have their times combined and the team with the lowest combined total time wins.

To be staged over five races (Race 2 - BolderBoulder 10K, Race 3 - Classic 10K, Race 4 - RMAC XC, Race 5 - Fort Collings Thanksgiving Day Run), the team with the most wins at the end of the year will receive the Mark Plaatjes Perpetual Trophy (Men) and the Elva Dryer Perpetual Trophy (Women).
BTC coach Lee Troop is excited about the concept. "This new rivalry that we have created is a fantastic opportunity for our sub-elite athletes to be involved in. Not only are they representing our community, but also our club, which is about pride, passion, and athletic excellenece. Every runner will have to run as hard as they can in making sure that every second counts if our teams are to win," he said.
