    * Prior to 2011, I had run over 80mpw twice. Now 5/6 weeks have been over 80. Hope the miles pay off in LA.

    * The injury to the right calf was bad earlier in the week, walked with a limp, but could run with minimal pain. Still pretty sore, gotten a bit better as the week has gone on.

    With four weeks to go until the LA Marathon, I needed a confidence booster. Last year I received it running the Colfax Half Marathon in 1:20:32 (6:09 pace), three weeks before the San Diego Marathon. My running schedule was a bit jacked up last week, as my right calf was killing me earlier in the week and I was tentative to do a long run, fearing an injury.
