So the first week jumping back into running didn't go as I had hoped or planned. Perhaps I tried to change too much to fast without actually having a realist plan to implement it into my schedule. I plan on taking on this week with a solid plan laid out and because I know me, prevent any opportunity for me to come up with an excuse to not run. Today I plan on buying a headlamp so running at night is safer and I can venture out of my normal loop.

This next weekend I hope to go for a nice, long (long runs for me are 5miles or more) trail run in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good trail run around Colorado Springs? I know there are endless options, but I'm looking for a 5-6mile easy trail run to spice things up and would love some suggestions!

Once I succeed in achieving a goal for 2 weeks, it will be kicked off the list because 14 days is consistent enough for me to be "in the habit of it"

Goals From Last week: 50% success rate
~eat out only once (failed - ate out twice)
~no skipping breakfast (success!)
~run daily (failed - only ran once, but it felt surprisingly wonderful!)
~be in bed by 11pm (success!)

Goals For This Week:
~eat out only once
~no skipping breakfast
~run 4-5x this week for minimum of 30 minuntes
~be in bed by 11pm during work week

Goals for the Month of January, 2010:
~lose 6-8lbs (headed in the right direction!!!)
~maintain consistency in running: 5x a week
~get enough miles under belt to start 1/2 marathon training in Feb
~find and register for a 1/2 marathon in April or May, 2010 in Colorado

It was pretty tough running last week with the cold weather and icy roads, good idea to make your goals public more motivation to stick with them!
