Nike Air Zoom Elite 4+ Review:

The Nike Air Zoom Elite 4+, is a lightweight training shoe that offers mild stability control.  It's designed
for the runner with a low to normal arch.  Nike recommends this shoe for runners with good
bio-mechanics, or as a race shoe for a runner who needs more stability.

I went through three pairs of the Nike Air Zoom Elite III's, thus I was eagerly awaiting to see what
changes Nike would make to the shoe for 2008.  Fortunately, the changes were minor.  The shoe lost
it's full length air insole to make room for the Nike+ system.  They also changed the overlays to
provide a better fit   around the mid-foot and heal.

I've run in the Zoom Elite 4+ enough times to confidently say that I cannot tell a difference between
the III and the 4+. At first I was concerned that the removal of the full length air sole to accommodate
the Nike + system would change the ride, but I cannot tell that a change has been made.  The shoe is
virtually identical to the Zoom Elite III, the tread and the base of the shoe look identical, and the shoe
even looks similar.

I have become an aficionado of the Nike Air Zoom Elite series.  It offers the perfect balance between
cushioning and lightweight.  I'm a fairly neutral runner, with low-mid arches, thus it offers a great fit.
I've been able to get 400 miles out of my last pair, but I started to notice the cushioning breaking
down around 350 miles.  At that point I delegated it has my short run shoe, until I could get to the 400
mile mark.

The Nike Air Zoom Elite 4+ feels flexible, which is something I look for in a running shoe.  I'm grateful
that Nike did not tinker with the shoe too much, it's probably the best every day trainer that I have
found in the last 2-3 years of running.
