October 26, 2007 - The 8th Annual Scream Scram 5k took place in Washington Park (Denver), at
6pm. The race benefited the Colorado Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).

Entry fee was $23 for early entry and $27 on race day. The Scream Scram gets my vote for favorite
T-shirt of the year. The shirt was short sleeved, black, with a glow in the dark, Mayan looking guy on
the front. The shirt was made of a thin, soft cotton material, thus it has now made its way into my daily
T-shirt rotation.

Scream Scram was a Halloween themed race, therefore many runners showed up in costume. Prizes
were awarded for best costume. The race had 833 runners. The Wash Park 5k loop is probably the
most used race course in all of Denver.  The Scream Scram was well organized and run.

I'm not really a fan of the Wash. Park race course because I have done it before and I prefer running
races on original courses. I would imagine it's the easiest place to conduct a race in Denver because
traffic control is not needed. In general, the Wash Park race course is not one of my favorite courses,
but it was a lot of fun to run on a Friday evening in the fall, that is for certain.

The runners in costume added to the fun factor and made for a good race. This is probably the only
race in Wash Park that I would consider running again. I just hope the T-shirt design in 2008 will be
as superb as 2007's shirt.
