April 1, 2007 – The Platte River Half Marathon (USATF Certified) started in Littleton and finished at
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Greenway Foundation.

Registration was $40 for early entry. Each participant received a black long sleeved T-shirt. Kudos for
the cool design; it's one of the few race shirts I actually wear that's not a tech shirt!

The race started in downtown Littleton and after about a mile the race headed to the Platte River Trail
and then proceeded south. The course continued down the trail for approximately 12 miles. The race
then exited onto 8th Avenue and finished at "The Buckhorn Exchange".

I give this race high marks. The course was fast with only two small hills. However, the hill on the 8th
Avenue Viaduct at mile 12.5 was tough and was in the later part of the race. The race had a net
elevation drop of 120 feet, so I would label it as a fast course.

In 2007, the race had 822 participants, which was a great size for a half marathon. I've also heard the
post race party was fantastic with lunch provided by The Buckhorn Exchange. Unfortunately, I was not
able to stick around for the festivities last year, thus I am unable to comment on the lunch/party.

I don't have any suggestions or negative comments for this race. However, be aware that the Platte
River Trail is concrete; not kind on the legs.

I will run this race in 2008.
