| May 6, 2007 - A 5k USATF certified course that benefits the Homeless. There were 1,507 participants. The entry fee was $30 for early entry and $35 for late entry. The race T-shirt was sub-par, nothing unique. However, the big bonus was that all participants received two free tickets to a Rockies home game. When I used my tickets later in the year I was surprised the seats were actually good seats in the lower tier. The 5k starts right in front of Coors Field, races downtown, and then loops back toward the stadium. The final 1/4-mile loop is around the warning track inside Coors Field before finishing on the West Side of the stadium. I enjoyed this race even if the course was rather hilly (rolling) and running downtown Denver is always fun. Also running a loop inside Coors Field is pretty sweet and gives the race a uniqueness factor. The race was well organized with high participation rate and good competition. This is a race that I would do again and the fact that you get two Rockies tickets more than makes up for the entry fee. Well done Rockies! http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/col/fan_forum/funrun.jsp |
